04/05/2007: "Tioga Pass Plowing"

The plowing of the Tioga Rd from Crane Flat to Tioga Pass will begin on April 16. As I have for the last couple of years, I will have the map up showing the progress that is made each day.
In the last 20 years the earliest the pass has opened is April 29, 1988. The latest it's opened is July 1, 1998. The more I think about it, I'm saying mid May this year. Any predictions from you guys?

The NPS has a 3 1/2 minute video about plowing of the Olmsted Point avalanche zone. It's pretty cool. You can check it out here;
