04/14/2007: "Check out this guys work"
I happened on BlueHourPhoto.com the other day and it has changed the way I now work on my photos in Photoshop. Andy Heatwole is the photographer and owner of the site. He does some pretty amazing things with his images once he gets them into Photoshop. I really can't describe it, you need to go see for yourself.
Now I will admit that some of his work goes way beyond what I consider to be photography and enters into the realm of digital art, but wow, what digital art. He has video tutorials on the site that show how he does what he does, I've watched two of them and what he teaches you can be used to make all of your photos so much better. His techniques are really quite simple. In fact on Friday Mike left a comment and talked about using a layer mask and gradient tool to create the graduated filter effect, Andy uses similar techniques. (I just might have to put up a tutorial explaining it.) I've been playing around with some my of photos and all I can say is that this is what I've been looking for for a long while. My stuff comes out looking awesome.
So go check out Andy's work at BlueHourPhoto.com It's pretty cool.
