04/22/2007: "Today's Storm"

Boy they have really backed off on today's storm. The Winter Storm Warnings have been dropped for most of the Sierra and what was once 18 inches of snow is now 1-3 inches. This is the way it's been all winter long. The storm looks good when it's out in the Pacific. But once it comes on land it just falls apart. We were hoping for a spring miracle, but we keep getting the winter that wasn't.
Guess the good side of this is that Tioga shouldn't be closed to much longer.

Drove the 395 down from Smith Valley yesterday. Only got a few flakes and road was pretty much dry. The snow clouds seem to hang onto the higher peaks. I could tell it was snowing at June and Mammoth but it didn't reach the 395.

Mostly it looked stormy at Tahoe but we really didn't get much snow. Maybe an inch.
