Convict Lake has been ice free. In fact, by the looks of the pictures I saw in the paper, Convict seemed to be the hottest place on opening weekend. A lot of big fish were caught there.

I took a drive up to Rock Creek Lake on Tuesday. There is still ice on the lake, but it's a large island floating out in the middle. The shore is completely free of ice. They didn't have the gate open yet to drive along the lake, but the parking area by the boat dock was open. The store is open too. I also noticed that the campgrounds in Rock Creek Canyon are open.
