2 Years Ago Today, I Arrived in Wisconsin
December 3, 2007, my brother Brian and I crossed the Mississippi River into Wisconsin and my new life began. As I drove across the Mighty Miss, the Grateful Dead’s “Sugar Magnolia” was playing and tears were streaming down my cheeks. Nine months earlier, when Tammy died, my life was turned up side down and scattered to the wind, now the pieces were beginning to reassemble.
A lot has happened since that day. I have built a new life for myself and with my new wife Lynne, have found happiness again.
To celebrate my two year anniversary, I’ve put together a slide show of photos from this past year. If you remember, I did the same thing last year. That slide show can be viewed here: My First Year in Wisconsin
This year’s slide show differs from last year’s though. Last year all of the pictures were from Wisconsin. Since Lynne and I have done a lot of traveling in 2009, this year’s slide show includes images from Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, South Dakota and even a couple from California. All of these picture were shot between Dec. 3, 2008 and Dec 3, 2009.
The music is by a very talented guitar player and song writer I recently discovered. His name is Carlos Saura and the song is Siempre Adelante (Always Ahead). I’m able to use this song under the Creative Commons License. I found the song on Jamendo.com. It’s a website and community for musicians who want to share their music with the world.
If you’d like to view the slide show full screen (I recommend it since the quality is greatly reduced in the YouTube version.), you can stream the hi-resolution version here:

It’s a 79mb file, so according to your internet connection, it may take a minute or two to load.
One note for Mac users, this is a Window Media file so you’ll need Windows Media Player or a Quicktime plugin to view it. The plugin can be downloaded for free here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx

Beautiful Steven. Here’s to year no. 3
Thanks Karl.
Wow, 79MB? Hmmmm, let’s see… On dial-up, that should take me about six days… (I’ll watch it after-hours at work.) Many congrats on your new life in Wisconsin.
