Well it looks like our great first storm kind of lost it’s greatness yesterday. From what I can see, the foot of snow that was predicted turned out to be about 3-6 inches. Mammoth is reporting 3 inches and the Tahoe resorts are saying about 2-6 inches. They are still forecasting up to 4 inches for today.

Winter Storm Warnings have been posted for most of the Sierra beginning tomorrow afternoon and continuing through Monday evening. 8-14 inches of snow are forecasted above 7000 feet. This storm will most likely close Tioga, Sonora, and Ebetts Passes for the winter.

I hadn’t planned on writing today, but I just read the weather forecast and thought I’d let everyone know what’s happening. There is a strong storm expected to move into the Sierra on Sunday and last through Monday. They are forecasting over a foot of snow for the Central and Northern Sierra.
So if you are heading into the mountains this weekend, be prepared for stormy conditions. They are also forecasting high winds so the snow will be blowing and visibility will be bad.
So there you go. I guess my “Think Snow” picture worked
Happy Thanksgiving Folks!!
