Sierra & Wisconsin Fall Colors

For those of you looking for some fall color reports, Carol Leigh’s Fall Color in California report has some new updates on it. Follow the above link  to view the reports.

Also the Lake Sabrina Boat Landing site has some new pictures up from the weekend. Here is the link for these pics: Changing Scenery
You need to scroll to the bottom of the page to see the newest pictures.

I’m hoping for a few first hand reports myself in the next couple of days. Hopefully we’ll have some pictures too.

As for fall colors back here in Wisconsin, things are beginning to change. There are a few gorgeous maples changing down the road, but peak color in the this area is still a couple weeks off.  We are expecting some cool weather to come in this week with highs in the upper 50’s to low 60’s and lows in the mid 40’s. This should really kick things into gear. I’m ready. All of these reports from Bishop Creek are driving me nuts and I need to get my fall color fix.

If anyone is interested, here is the site I’m following for fall color reports in Wisconsin:
Travel Wisconsin Fall Color Report

The map they have on this site is really cool. It tells you county by county where the trees are changing and how close they are to peak color. Kenosha County is the county at the very bottom right of the state. You can’t get anymore south-east than us.

As soon as I get some pictures, you’ll see them on here. It’s raining today so I don’t know if I’ll go out or not, but if the rain lets up this afternoon I may go try to find some trees.

Kite Boarders on Lake Michigan

September 28th, 2008 Author: Steven

Whenever the wind blows out of the north you can normally find a couple of kite boarders out on the lake. Today there were four all in the same area and I had my camera with me for a change.  The one guy was pretty good and was catching a lot of big air off of the waves. Here’s some of the better shots I got this afternoon.

Kite Boarder on Lake Michigan, Kenosha WI   Waiting to head out.   Kite Boarder on Lake Michigan, Kenosha WI   Catching some air

Kite Boarders on Lake Michigan, Kenosha WI   Big air with a grab.   Heading back up the beach.   More big air.

Hey, you forgot something there.   Yep, he's flying through the air.   All four kites. The guy in the middle is catching some big air.   Looking south towards the harbor and the Pierhead Lighthouse.
