A few Changes

April 30th, 2011 Author:

Wanted to update you guys on some changes that will be taking place on SierraVisions. As many of you know, I have another site that’s a weather blog about SE Wisconsin weather. I’ve decided to shut that blog down because I don’t have the time to keep it updated the way I want to. So one of the first changes you’re going to see is me talking more about the weather where I live. I use to do this a lot before the weather blog, now I’ll be doing it again.

The next change will be the return of the Wisconsin WebCams to SierraVisions. That will make some folks happy I’m sure.

I will also be adding links to my personal weather logs and plan on posting my Twitter feed somewhere. I need to make some room for them.

Hopefully the biggest change you’ll see are more post again. Since I won’t be dividing things between two blogs, I should have more to talk about on here.

Happy Easter

April 24th, 2011 Author:

Happy Easter everyone. Hope your Easter Sunday is going well. I spent this morning out at Wind Point shooting some pictures, now I’m watching the Brewers game and waiting for Lynne to get back from her trip to Missouri. She should be home around 5, then I’m going to throw some steaks on the grill and have nice Easter evening with my wife.

Here are a couple of the photos I shot this morning while at Wind Point.

Time Lapse Videos by Terje Sorgjerd

April 22nd, 2011 Author:

Here are two of the most awesome time lapse videos I’ve seen. They were shot by photographer Terje Sorgjerd and are truly spectacular! I highly recommend watching these full screen.

The first is titled “The Aurora”. It was shot in Kirkenes and Pas National Park bordering Russia.

The second video is titled “The Mountain” and was shot at Spain’s highest mountain, El Teide.

A big thanks to long time SierraVisions reader Betty for pointing me in the direction of these.

Bear Creek Spire Painting

April 19th, 2011 Author:

Martin Arriola is an artist from Southern California. Recently, he used one of my images as inspiration for a painting. The image he used was my black and white Bear Creek Spire one.

Here’s Maritn’s finished painting, titled “Sun Lit Sierras”

Personally, I think it’s awesome and it’s now my desktop picture on the computer. The original size of the painting is 30 x 40. I bet it’s spectacular to see in person. Martin and I plan on collaborating again in the future with another of my Sierra Nevada photos.

Check out Martin’s web site to see more of his great paintings: Arriola, Original Art by Martin Arriola
