SierraVisions.com is run by me, Steven Bourelle. I’m a California native who was born in the LA area. The first 17 years of my life were spent in the city. But every summer we would spend from 1-2 weeks in the Sierra. It was during these vacations that I learned to love the mountains and the natural world. In 1986 dad decided we should move up to the Eastern Sierra town of Bishop. I was dragged along kicking and screaming. Though I loved the mountains, I didn’t want to live in the middle of nowhere. Well, I ended up spending 21 years there.

On March 2, 2007 my wife Tammy passed away and life in Bishop just wasn’t the same without her. So I moved away from my Sierra Nevada. I now live in Kenosha Wisconsin where I have started a new life and found love again. I’m now remarried and live with my wonderful wife Lynne, our two cats, Sunny and Noel, and my best buddy good ol’ Scout the Dawg.

SierraVisions will continue to live on. I can never be to far away from the mountains I love so much, and through this web site I will continue to share my love for them with you. But now that I live along the shores of Lake Michigan, I have learned to love another part of our great country, the Midwest. So now SierraVisions also includes a large taste of Midwest living. I’ve also expanded my photography subjects since moving. They now include Lake Michigan, lighthouses, barns, beautiful country scenes and airshows.

When I began SierraVisions in 1999 I only had one plan for it, show off my photography. But in the years that have followed, SierraVisions has grown and developed a life of it’s own. It evolved from a simple photo gallery into an extension of me, my art and my life. I’ve shared many memories with my readers over the years. Together we’ve laughed and cried, gone through hell and high water, and discovered the bliss of a life renewed. My readers have picked me up when I was at the bottom, and soared to the highest peaks with me. And I hope that through my photography, poetry and writing I’ve given them something back in return. I believe I have.
