SierraVisions.com is run by me, Steven Bourelle. I’m a California native who was born in the LA area. The first 17 years of my life were spent in the city. But every summer we would spend from 1-2 weeks in the Sierra. It’s was during these vactions that I learned to love the mountains and the natural world. In ‘86 dad decided we should move up to Bishop. I was dragged along kicking and screaming. Though I loved the mountains, I didn’t want to live in the middle of nowhere. Well, I’ve been here ever since.

Though most of my photography is of the mountains, I do love the other areas of California too. I consider the northern coast to be one of the most magical places on earth. I have also learned to love the deserts and the simple complexity of life there. But my true love is the Sierra Nevada.

SierraVisions.com started in 1999 as a photo gallery to show off my pictures. In the years that followed I added many new pages and it has evolved into one of the best sites for Sierra Nevada information and one of the most visited Sierra sites on the web.

This newest version of SierraVisions is the fourth generation of the site. It is now fully compatible with what’s being called “Web 2.0″. The content will remain the same, but now we’re up to date with the modern internet.

On 3-2-07 my wife Tammy passed away and life in Bishop just wasn’t the same without her.  I am now living away from my Sierra Nevada. I’m in Madison, Wisconsin where I am hoping to find a new happiness. SierraVisions will continue to live on though. I can never be to far away from the mountains I love so much, and through this web site I will continue to share my love of them with you.
