Beautiful Day to Ride the Waves

December 3rd, 2009 Author: Steven

Just got back from eating my lunch down by the lake. Guess what I saw?

My first Kenosha surfers!
There were two guys out there riding the waves.

The waves are pretty nice today. There’s no wind here in Kenosha, but 4-5 foot waves, with some sets bigger, are breaking on the shore.  That means there’s wind out on the lake somewhere. The waves are moving in from the north-east so I’m guessing the wind is blowing on the northern part of the lake. The current water temp is in the mid 40′s.

Oh and one more thing, it’s snowing out. Yeah, that’s right. Guys surfing on Lake Michigan while it’s snowing. Ya got to love it!

It’s not snowing hard, just flurries, but this is the first snow I’ve seen fall since last winter.

Wow. I just checked the forecast for the first time today and guess what? We have a Winter Weather Advisory posted. 3-5 inches of snow is possible this afternoon and evening. That’s a surprise.

Since I started typing this the flakes are getting bigger and more numerous. I might have to shoot some video for you guys :-)

Next time you’re out there, I would love to see some pictures of the waves and/or surfers. That is awsome.
