Is Anybody Out There?

December 14th, 2011 Author:

Hello everybody. Remember me?

I have some big news for you guys. After a lot of thinking and soul searching, I’ve decided to start updating SierraVisions again. I’ve turned the comments back on and new posts should start appearing on the blog soon. I will also get the webcams page updated as I’m sure there are some dead links on the list.

With this rebirth of the site, I will be making some changes. I’ve decided to simplify the site so maintaining and updating it will be easier. Many of the sidebar cells will be going away as will a couple of the pages.

I’ve also come to the major decision to change the look of the site. I already have a new theme picked out that will create a nice, clean, uncluttered look.

You should start seeing some of these changes in the coming days and hopefully I’ll have everything done by the new year.

So hang on as I start this ride up again and I hope you enjoy what will be the 5th generation of SierraVisions.

Shelf Cloud over Kenosha

Here’s a photo of the shelf cloud from the squall line as it moved into our area this evening. This dude was moving at 60+ mph as it came through.

For how ominous this looks, the storm totally fell apart as it moved over the cooler air near the lake. All we’re getting is rain and a little lightning.

Site Changes

May 15th, 2011 Author:

The more observant of you will have noticed a couple of changes to the site over the last week. These changes are being made as I integrate some things from my former weather site, SE Wisconsin Weather into SierraVisions.

Three main changes have taken place.

  • The first was the return of the Wisconsin Cams page.
  • Secondly, I added my Twitter feed to the left side bar. I don’t update Twitter as much as I use to, but when there is something interesting to report I tend to update it a lot. I also re-tweet things of interest to me quite a bit. So keep an eye on there for some interesting tidbits that won’t make it to a post on the site.
  • Thirdly, I have just finished transferring my Kenosha Weather Page to SierraVisions. On this page you’ll find current conditions, five day forecast and yearly and monthly averages for Kenosha along with links to my personal weather logs from my house. This page is replacing my Lake Michigan Lighthouse page.

Hope you guys enjoy these changes. I will possibly be making a few more as I try to bring my life and interest in Wisconsin back to the site. I kind of got away from that.
