SierraVisions Radio?
I am in the process of doing something that I’ve wanted to do for years. I’m currently putting together a large playlist of the music that I love. I’ll be streaming it online, through what I’m calling SierraVisions Radio.
Remember my post a few days ago with the music player on it? I’m able to do that through a web site called IMEEM.com. I can upload music to the site and play it through their player. I just discovered today that you also have access to all of the songs that everyone else has uploaded to the site, and that you can create a playlist from those songs. So basically you can create your own radio station that plays your playlist. And from what I saw on the site, it looks like all of this is legal and approved by the artist. If an artist doesn’t approve then they take the song off line or only put a 30 second sample of the song up.
So here’s my plan. I set up a link on the web site that goes to a page where the player will be. You can go to the player, start the music rolling, and as long as you don’t shut the window, you can listen to it all day.
What sort of music am I putting on SierraVisions Radio. It’s mostly the stuff I listen to every day. Grateful Dead, Jimmy Buffett, Railroad Earth, John Prine, Todd Snider, Bob Marley, Jerry Jeff Walker, John Hiatt and stuff like that. I may throw some classic rock and country on there too just to keep things interesting. One thing is for sure, %90 of the music I put on you won’t hear on regular radio.
So if you’re as sick of regular radio as I am, then stay tuned. I’m hoping to get this up and rolling real soon.
And please let me know what you think of this idea. I’m curious to see what your thoughts are.
