Attention Hobos, iClips has just posted a new Railroad Earth show from the Jam Cruise 8. The video has 10 songs and is great quality, you can even watch it full screen, I’ve never been able to do that on iClips before.

Here’s the link to the video: http://www.iclips.net/watch/rre-jam-cruise-8

I’m not sure how long this will be available to watch, so check it out soon.

One Finale Bruce Hornsby Post, maybe….

Last night’s show was awesome. I’m still buzzing from it this morning. I’m not sure what it is about Bruce’s music, but I absolutely love to hear it performed live. His sound just goes straight to my soul.

Once again the balcony folks were discriminated against and I was denied access to place my request on the stage. Oh well. I yelled out my request a number of times and I heard it yelled out by other folks too, but Bruce must not of heard it because “Across the River” didn’t get played.

No worries though. He did play what would have been my second and third choices, including “Cyclone”. I think “Cyclone” is fast becoming one of my all time favorite Hornsby songs. I didn’t realize this until Bruce talked about it last night, but the lyrics for “Cyclone” were written by Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter. Truly another masterpiece by one of the greatest lyric writers of all time.

Meeting Joe “Rock and Roll Guru” Heuer,  was cool too. Met him for dinner before the show and talked a lot of rock and roll. He’s a very cool guy. But what else would you expect from a fellow Deadhead. He’s now putting up video blog posts from the concerts he goes to and shoots them after the show is over. Guess who was the guest camera man last night? That’s right, little ol’ me :-) I’ll put a link up to his post once he gets it online today.

Seeing Bruce Hornsby two times in four days was amazing. The solo show was great and last night’s show was awesome.
So, I guess my Bruce Hornsby fix is taken care of for awhile.
Ah hell who am I kidding, I could go see him again tonight in Iowa and Thursday in Missouri.

Bruce Hornsby Part 2

Tonight is Bruce Hornsby Part 2. Going to see him in Milwaukee this time. The solo show was great with Bruce tearing it up on the piano. He did go into some weird jazz stuff from time to time that we didn’t care for, but it was still awesome to see him perform solo.

Tonight we get the whole band and I know it will be rockin’. Looking forward to meeting up with my buddy, the RockandRollGuru too. If you haven’t checked out Joe’s blog yet, you can at RockandRollGuru.com

Here’s a live video featuring one of Bruce’s new songs. The song is call “Cyclone” and is pretty darn good. I’m hoping they play this tonight.

Cyclone – Live

I didn’t get to put up my request on Saturday night because security wouldn’t let me place it on the stage before the show because my seat was in the balcony. That kind of sucked.  Hoping that I can get the request on stage tonight. It would make my night to hear “Across the River”, it’s my favorite Hornsby song. Wish me luck :-)

Bruuuuuce!!

Tonight, Bruce Hornsby live in Illinois. Been waitin’ for this show since it was announced the first of the year. Bruce will be performing a solo show tonight, just him and the piano. I have a live recording of one of his solo shows and it’s awesome. Going to be some amazing piano work going on in Skokie, IL tonight.

Then on Tuesday I get to see Bruce again. This time in Milwaukee with his band The Noisemakers. This will be another amazing show. I’ll be meeting up with a Twitter buddy of mine, Joe (aka The RockandRollGuru). Go check out Joe’s site at RockandRollGuru.com he’s a pretty cool cat that loves to share his knowledge of rock and roll.

I’m expecting it to be a little emotional for me tonight and Tuesday. The last concert Tammy and I went to was Bruce Hornsby in Reno. That was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been too. I still get a little teary when I hear songs that he played that night, so I’m sure some tears will flow at these two shows. Especially if he plays my request. (Bruce doesn’t use set list for his shows. Instead the set is composed of request from the audience and what he feels like playing. So every show is unique.)

Here’s a video of Bruce doing a solo performance of his song Spider Fingers. If you’ve never seen Bruce live, this will give you a good example of how great his playing is.
