And that brings me to my lack of posts. Sometimes real life takes over and my internet life gets put on hold. That’s pretty much what’s been happening over the last couple of months. I’ve had a lot of other things going on and not much energy left for computer stuff.

I’ve also been going through a little blogging burnout. I’ve been writing on here for 8 years now and it seems harder than ever to come up with things to write about. So I’m taking a little break from it. I will try to get at least one new post up a week, but right now I’m not promising even that.

Thanks for your understanding on all of this. I’m not giving up on SierraVisions, but I just can’t update as often as I use to.

Meet Annie, the newest member of our family. She’s a Chow / Shepard mix that we have adopted from One Tail at a Time rescue out of Chicago. They say that she’s 3 years old, but I’m thinking she might be younger than that. I’ll know more when my vet looks at her.

I had Annie as a client for dog walking, I’m not going to go into details, but the opportunity came up for us to adopt her. I began to fall in love with her the day I met her so when the opportunity came, we jumped at the chance to get her.

For those of you who know the issues that our dog Scout has had with other dogs, he is doing great with Annie. That’s one of the reasons I wanted her. I just knew that she would be a good companion for Scout. They have become pals and seem to grow closer each day. In fact, as I write this, they are laying side by side on the floor next to me.

Needless to say, the last week has been pretty hectic. Annie has had to learn the rules of the house and we’ve all had to learn how to live with Annie, this includes Annie proofing each room! It’s been quite an adventure, but we’re all starting to adjust and yesterday was the first real relaxing , somewhat normal day we’ve had.

Now we have to get the cats use to her. They’re getting there, but it’s going to take awhile longer. She’s very playful and energetic and they aren’t use to that. Noel seems to be adapting better than Sunny. The same thing happened when they met Scout, Noel adjusted first, but Sunny and Scout became buds first.

Anyway, I’ll try to get back to regular posting again. I have some pictures from the Port Washington Pirate Festival to share and will get them up soon.

So hang in there with me, I haven’t forgot about the site. At least there are always the beautiful Sierra Nevada Web Cams to look at while I’m busy elsewhere :-)

I think it’s safe to say the our souls were refreshed and facing the rest of the winter doesn’t seem quite as bad. Not that it’s bad anyway, since we love winter, but taking a warm Southern California break from it feels very good.  I told Lynne that we may have to take a winter vacation every year from now on :-)

Of course Wisconsin had to welcome us back the best way it knows how, by freezing our butts off. It was 3 degrees when we got home with a windchill around -20. Today’s high is 6 and it’s supposed to get -6 tonight.  Yesterday as the plane was leaving LAX the pilot asked if anyone was wearing shorts and flip flops. He said they were in for a big surprise when we got to Milwaukee :-)

It feels good to be home though. We’re kind of taking it easy today, getting some laundry and shopping done. We both have a lot of pictures to go through, I’ll get some posted sometime this week.

To celebrate, Lynne and I will be catching a plane for California tomorrow and should be in Bishop tomorrow evening. All of the family will be there and Mom knows nothing of this. It will be the first time we’ve all been together since dad passed away.

This is going to be a very busy, nonstop trip for us. Wish I could see some of you guys while we’re out there, but it’s just not possible this time.

There most likely won’t be posting anymore until we get home next week.
