- Mandatory evacuations are now in effect for all of Bishop Creek canyon including Aspendell, Cardinal Village and South Fork Bishop Creek.
- Lower down the canyon, the settlement of Starlight looks to have been spared and they are letting people back into their homes.
- This morning my brother reported many helicopters and tankers flying over, but he now says they seem to have stopped this afternoon.
- Thunderstorms are building once again in the Eastern Sierra. Rain has been reported in Bishop.

Currently that’s all I know.

Hey,
Thanks for the updates Commander Steve! I was going to try and get you some updated pictures but I can’t find where Panda put the camara. I will send news as I get it. Maybe some pictures also after Panda gets off work at 3:00.
SeeYa,
Brian
more thunderstorms and rain rolling through bishop now. Sure has an ominous feeling about it with the smoke and orangish lighting.
Hey, It is down right spooky out there. It is raining pretty good at my house right now. Latest update on the scanner is they are trying to account for all law enforcement and they have also ordered them all off the mountain and down to starlight to figure out what they want to do next. The wind is picking up pretty good and for the first time today the smell from the fire is comming through my swamp cooler. It is really spooky out there with the orange tint everywhere. At least the thunder that was going off about 30 minutes ago seems to have left.
SeeYa,
Brian
Hey,
The wind has shifted and is now blowing all of the smoke back into Bishop. The visability has dropped by about 50 percent in the last 15 minutes. The good news is the water droppers have started flying again. I just saw the biggest water dropping helicopter that I have ever saw.
SeeYa,
Brian
CalFire now reporting that the fire is up to 1400 acres and may reach 4000 acres before it’s done.
I have images from our front yard my neighbor took an hour ago that they sent me…how can I get them to you??
I’ve been thinking about you. Was wondering if you were in the mountains or not. You can email the pics to me. steven@sbdigitalarts.com

Thanks for the thoughts…I am numb right now without actually being there.
Been thinking about you too susan. sounds like it’s not a threat to aspendell at this point, hopefully it stays that way.
