Here’s the video that goes with the pictures from the last post. It really shows how wild Lake Michigan was on that day.

    Beautiful. Looks like the ice volcanos are gone though.

      Karl, the ice volcanoes that I took pictures of are still there, they’re just dwarfed by the larger new ice. In the first wide angle view of the lighthouse the ice volcanoes are the hills in the white section of ice. The ones I took pictures of are to the far right. I’m sure more volcanoes will form in the new ice.

      It’s going to be interesting to see what happens out there over the next few days. We’re expected to have a little warm up here and temps are forecast to go above freezing the next three days. It’s possible that the thinner sections of the ice shelf will melt and leave the thicker sections stranded as islands.
