We haven;t had clean sunshine in days. The last two days with the little cloud cover has just kept the smoke even lower. Right now it is orangish grey... with no shadows... yuck. I too was in the area of the station fire. I took the 210 out to Upland. At 8 am, you could not see more than a block ahead of you most of the way from almost the 5 to just before the Rose Bowl. Coming home late afternoon, the smoke had lifted, and I was shocked to see how much of that range is gone... that was last Sat. and it is still going strong. Thanks for putting up the pics... unreal...

Thanks for posting the link to my Station Fire set, Steven. It was such an interesting experience -- my first ever shooting a fire up close, although as a native of So Cal (Santa Monica), I've seen plenty of them, especially in the Santa Monica Mountains.

I still have many more images to post. In particular, I was fascinated by the pyrocumulus clouds that formed and rose well over 20,000 feet above the mountains. It was like watching a volcano erupt. (A couple of the videos convey that feeling as well.)

My thoughts and prayers go out to the firefighters and to the families of the two men who lost their lives bravely battling this beastly inferno.
