Sierra Nevada WebCams Reorganized
I’ve just finished reorganizing the Sierra Cams. I’ve put them into categories based on their geographic location in the Sierra. Here is how the locations break down
- Southern Sierra ……. Tehachapi to Hume Lake
- Central Sierra ……… Aubery to Bear Valley
- Northern Sierra ……. Kirkwood to Mt Lassen
- Lake Tahoe ………… Cams in and around the Tahoe Basin
- Eastern Sierra …….. Cams along and near Hwy 395
Within their categories the cams are then listed roughly south to north.
This is a major change to the page, none of the cams are where they use to be. It may be a hassle until you get use to the new layout, but in the long run this is a much more efficient way of organizing the cams. It’s also going to make it much easier to update the page as new cams come in.
One of the other perks to this format is that now you can tell where in the Sierra a cam is located. I’m even considering making a map to help everyone visualize where the cams are.
I know that change is hard and not everyone is going to like the new format, but it won’t take to long until the new layout is second nature to ya

I like the new set up, always had to “think” a little to pick out just where they all were.

I have always enjoyed the site and now is easier to navigate around. A map showing the approximate locations would be great.

Thanks for positive feedback. I’m happy that everyone seems to like the new layout. I’m planning on doing the same thing with the California Cams.
Great Job … one more suggestion, alphabetize the lists … any reason why that couldn’t be done? Just checking.
I thought about doing it that way Ann, but I decided to go with listing them south to north.
