Sierra Storm Totals
Looks like this last storm wasn’t everything that was originally promised, but that’s Mother Nature for ya. The Sierra received around a foot and a half of snow in the higher elevations. It was a wet snow though and added about 2 inches of water content to the snow pack.
Winter Storm Warning are still posted through Tuesday morning for the Northern Sierra with another 6 inches forecast to fall.
Right now it’s looking like the next big storm could begin on Sunday.

Keep the rain and snow a comin’! The southern deserts are greening up and starting to bloom. Could be a decent year for wildflowers yet!
Indeed, not much here at all. The talk on Friday was for four feet in Mammoth and a lot of rain down lower. Not sure about Mammoth, looks like more around 8 to 12′, and here I counted about 57 rain drops. Still, good it was wet snow.
Rained and rained in the Central Valley and along the coast.
I’ll be heading Lower Owens and Desert way in April. Will let you know what I find out there.
Thanks for the site, Steven, as always!
Down here in Smith Valley we got about half a sprinkle……dang….I have to go out and water the trees……
