Steve Fossett’s ID found near Mammoth Lakes

It appears that adventurer Steve Fossett’s plane,  that disappeared over a year ago,  crashed near Mammoth. A local Mammoth hiker found pieces of identification belonging to Fossett in a remote area east of Minaret Mine on Monday. A full search for the plane and body are now under way.

on the tv news this morning, the sheriff confirmed that the wreckage was fosett’s and the faa(?) will retrieve it for further investigation. they are planning to do an arm in arm sweep of the area this morning to look for his remains. looks like they may end up fighting some weather.
