Sunday Pics From Kenosha
Here I go again. I’m going to try to get these pictures up.
As I said in the last post, Sunday was very different than Saturday. The ice flows had moved into the harbor and the wind had stopped blowing, but the wind left it’s mark everywhere.
These first shots are to the south of the harbor at a little park. I found this little pier jutting out into the water and was totally drawn by the icicles hanging off of it. Then I noticed all of the ice on the rocks along the shore. The pier itself was totally covered in ice, making shooting these shots a little tricky.
After shooting these shots I headed back to the harbor. The ice there wasn’t solid and was floating about and making some cool sounds as the pieces hit each other.
While I was shooting these pictures I noticed what appeared to be a boat off in the distance. My first thought was, “No way would a boat be out today.”
Well I was wrong. A few minutes later it blew it’s horn and I set up to shoot it coming in. What I got are two of the coolest shots I’ve ever taken. (I know, that’s a bad pun :-)
That’s it. I’m heading back this weekend to see what kind of magic Lake Michigan gives me this time.

ahhhhh!!!!!!!!! that looks freeeeeeeeeeeeezing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful pictures…can’t wait to show them to my husband. He loves lighthouses and boats.
Really really cool. I like the ice on the railing, and the “mini ice berg” pics. Looks like it’s quite cold there =)
Speaking of cold, there is some snow in the forcast for the Sierras. Also calling for a chance of snow in Big Bear.
Funny thing Mike, these pictures look colder than the Saturday ones, but because the wind wasn’t blowing, it wasn’t nearly as cold.
Beautiful pictures Steven. As always. Looks almost like a movie set, amazing nature. We can’t wait to see more of Wisconsin. Thanks for sharing! Weekend is almost here… yippee!! :)
