The Difference a Couple Days Make

I just got back from taking Scout out for a bit. We were down at the harbor where the pictures from the last post were taken. It’s amazing how quickly the ice shelf changes. None of those pictures would look the same if taken today.

The ice has extend out another 10-15 feet and there are now new ice volcanoes in front of the ones in the pictures. In fact, the tall volcano in the first three pictures now has two new ones growing out of it’s side that are just as big as it is. The one Lynne took her pictures of is now extinct and no longer at the edge of the self.  The ice shelf itself is growing in areas where it wasn’t on Sunday. It’s formed along all of the beaches now. It still has a long way to go to reach how far it was last year at this time though.
