Here’s a video of the record hail stone that fell in Vivian SD on July 23, 2010. You can appreciate the size so much more in this video then you can in the pictures. This thing is huge!

    Wow. I wonder if they’ll try to preserve it in a freezer for as long as possible. I remember being impressed with myself for saving a tupperware tub full of quarter-inch hailstones for about six months. They fuzed together then vaporized away over time.

      I’m sure they will. They also are making a mold of it so copies can be displayed in museums.
