Yosemite Fall Color Report
Now that the trees are mostly bare in the Eastern Sierra, it’s time to turn our attention to Yosemite Valley. I’ve only heard small reports about the fall colors in the valley, so if anyone makes a trip in the next week or so, feel free to give us a report.
I do have a report from Michael Frye from his trip to the Eastern Sierra over the weekend. This comes from the CalPhoto group.
My wife and I went over to the east side this weekend. We visited Lee
Vining Canyon, Lundy Canyon, June Lake Loop, Convict Lake, and McGee
Creek. Not much color in Lundy – lots of trees with withered green
leaves. Similar story for Convict Lake and McGee Creek. A bit of
color in Lee Vining Canyon, although not enough to go out of your way
for. But the June Lake Loop from Grant to Silver Lakes was beautiful.
Right at peak with lots of yellow and orange and a little red.In the park, Siesta Lake was prime, with the blueberries along the
shore turning red. We didn’t go into the valley, but I hear things
are starting to happen there. There were some nice red dogwoods along
120, and lots of yellow maples at the old dam (120/140 junction).Michael

Hi Steven,
Quick note: the Tioga Pass came is up and running, just not yet up automatically on the YA site. You can get to it thru the Tioga Pass link on your webcam list or by clicking on the title beneath the pink rectangle on the YA site.
Great pictures of your Michigan fall. We are a little later here in Virginia, but it is now beautiful.
All the best!
just a note of thanks to michael, inge, kahlee, parchar website and others for all the fall color reports. it was a nice diversion for the all too brief time it lasted. hopefully we’ll have more of the same next year. oh, and i think kahlee has the beginnings of a good guide book!
